    Arizona RCPI

    The Arizona Regional Community Policing Institute was established in 1997 and funded through the United States Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) with the purpose of institutionalizing community policing philosophies throughout the State of Arizona.

    AZRCPI is a partnership of the Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police (AACOP), Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (AZPOST), Arizona Sheriff’s Association (ASA), Arizona State University (ASU), Arizona Fraternal Orders of Police (AFOP), Gilbert, Mesa, Phoenix, Surprise, and Tucson Police Departments, Phoenix Greater Urban League, Neighborhood Activists Inter-Linked Empowerment Movement (NAILEM). All of the classes offered are AZPOST certified for continuing education credit. All classes are available to sworn and civilian members of any criminal justice agency, as well as interested community members.

    California RCPI

    The Regional Community Policing Institute - California (RCPI-CA) is a partnership of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the Violence Prevention Coalition of Greater Los Angeles, and Rio Hondo Community College. It is located at the Sheriff's Training Academy in Whittier, CA.

    Carolinas Institute for Community Policing

    CICP is committed to providing community-based training and educational experiences that will effectively identify, address and resolve problems and enhance the quality of life within our communities. We provide training throughout North and South Carolina. CICP is unique among Regional Community Policing Institutes (RCPI) in the United States. It is the only RCPI offering courses in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for crime analysis and community policing. GIS tools provide the functionality to perform anything from automated pin mapping to providing management support for personnel deployment and redistricting. Through the virtual maps that can be created using GIS, a more complete picture of a particular community can be formed.

    Colorado RCPI

    The Colorado Regional Community Policing Institute was created by the Colorado Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Justice, in 1997 and is funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS). The Colorado Regional Community Policing Institute provides training and technical assistance for law enforcement agencies and officers throughout Colorado. Programs include entry-level recruit training through the Colorado Police Corps Academy, as well as offering a variety of professional skill development courses for Colorado public safety agencies and communities, supplemented by community problem-solving grant program, Line Officer Grants.

    Florida RCPI

    The Florida Regional Community Policing Institute (RCPI) at St. Petersburg College provides free community policing training and technical assistance to law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.  This statewide training focuses on collaborative partnerships and problem-solving strategies for criminal justice practitioners, citizens and community leaders – including youth, volunteers, city employees, elected officials, social service agencies and private sector representatives.

    Gulf States RCPI

    The Gulf States Regional Center for Public Safety Innovations is dedicated to building partnerships between law enforcement agencies, government, and community organizations to facilitate the implementation of Public Safety Initiatives.  Our goal is to enhance public safety and to improve the quality of life in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

    Illinois Regional Institute for Community Policing

    Our mission is to promote community policing as a philosophy and practice for all members of a community through innovative education, training, and technical assistance in order to increase the quality of life in Illinois.

    RICP will assist police organizations in transforming law enforcement training and developing personnel for the ever changing leadership roles which will sustain community policing in the 21st century. The RICP specializes in providing instruction related to the organizational and community dynamics which support the implementation of community policing. The RICP also trains communities to assess the impact of their own community policing efforts. Through this assessment, communities can conduct case studies of selected areas to determine the effects of Institute-sponsored programs.

    Located in Springfield, the Regional Institute for Community Policing has access to resources through the university system, which include traditional classrooms, distance-learning facilities, and video access to state and university facilities located throughout Illinois.

    Institute for Public Safety Partnerships

    The Institute for Public Safety Partnerships is a cooperative effort between community organizations, police agencies, educational institutions, and other governmental agencies. It is dedicated to enhancing the capacities of communities, police, and other agencies to work together, and to building safer and healthier communities through a prevention oriented approach to policing. The Institute is founded on the following principles:

     

    • Citizens, policing agencies, community associations, and other government agencies share responsibility for public safety
    • Problem solving for public safety occurs at multiple levels, from local neighborhoods to community-wide areas, organizations, and agencies
    • Education and training-of police, community, and government together-is a key vehicle for fostering safer communities
    • Knowledge and trust are built on collaboration and information sharing; information sharing can be improved with enhanced technology

    Indiana RCPI

    The Indiana Regional Community Policing Institute (RCPI) exists to develop, promote, and provide comprehensive, innovative educational policing strategies, for law enforcement agencies and community, in order to enhance the quality of life throughout the Indiana region.

    Kansas RCPI

    The WSU RCPI has received a grant to provide training and technical assistance on all aspects of ethics and integrity in the states of Kansas and Nebraska. This grant will fund a wide range of ethics and integrity training programs for law enforcement and correction agencies. Training topics will include a wide range of issues discussing racial profiling, excessive force and perjury and will intertwine issues related to terrorism in American policing.

    Kentucky RCPI

    The mission of the Kentucky Regional Community Policing Institute at Eastern Kentucky University is to encourage and enhance the implementation of community policing in Kentucky in order to create safer communities through training and technical assistance.     Maine RCPI

    The Maine Community Policing Institute (MCPI) is a division of The University of Maine at Augusta. Our mission is to deliver education, training and technical assistance on the Community Oriented Policing philosophy, components, and strategies.

    MCPI is positioned as a central resource for neighborhoods, communities, and law enforcement agencies in the dissemination of Community Policing information.

    Michigan RCPI

    The Michigan Regional Community Policing Institute (RCPI) is one Institute in a national network of Institutes, charged with institutionalizing the principles of community policing in law enforcement agencies through innovative community policing training and technical assistance. RCPI’s have the latitude to experiment with new ideas that challenge and improve traditional training curricula, and to develop new curricula to support community policing and sustain it into the future.

    Mid-Atlantic RCPI

    The mission of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Community Policing Institute (MARCPI) is to support law enforcement agencies and their communities in fostering police integrity and ethics through quality education and training, interagency cooperation and collaboration, quality leadership, and commitment to community policing. Further, it is the mission of the Institute to foster lasting partnerships among law enforcement and other government agencies, community organizations, educational institutions, non-profit agencies, businesses and industries, and other entities to improve police service and the viability and well-being of neighborhoods. MARCPI provides community policing services to the Mid-Atlantic region. This region includes: Maryland, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Southern Pennsylvania, and Northern Virginia.

    Missouri RCPI

    The Missouri Western State University-Regional Community Policing Institute will provide, professional and interactive community policing training and technical assistance to law enforcement agencies, business and community organizations, and citizens throughout the state of Missouri. MWSU-RCPI will utilize a variety of traditional and innovative educational and training delivery methods to provide accessibility to Institute services to all regions of Missouri. The MWSU-RCPI will work collaborative with its partner organizations to facilitate the implementation of the concepts and philosophy of community problem solving as a primary means of addressing crime and disorder to improve the overall quality of life for citizens of Missouri.

    New England RCPI

    RCPI-NE is a change agent dedicated to educating both police officers and community members about the philosophy and implementation of community policing.     New York State RCPI

    The New York State Regional Community Policing Institute seeks to engage police and community (citizens, government, private organizations and businesses) in active collaboration to reduce crime, help maintain order and improve the quality of life throughout the states of New York and New Jersey and their diverse communities.     Oklahoma RCPI

    Pennsylvania RCPI

    The Pennsylvania Regional Community Policing Institute, with offices in Allentown and Pittsburgh, is funded by the United States Department of Justice and managed by the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (OCOPS), in cooperation with ALERT Partnership, Bethlehem Police Department, Lehigh Valley Hospital Health Network and Lehigh University. Our unique partnership is based on the Community Health Model with LVHHN as lead agency. The LVHHN defines its community role beyond reacting to individual medical needs. It embraces as its organizational philosophy community health and well being. As such, its vast resources and community programs have contributed immeasurably to our successes. Police departments, community groups and local government agencies have long supported LVHHN programs and initiatives. Indeed, this medical model, because of its broad application and support of community policing principles, can be replicated in most communities as a prescription for community policing success.

    Tennessee RCPI

    The University of Tennessee RCPI is a Regional Community Policing Institute (RCPI) funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS). The RCPI, one of more than 27 RCPIs nationwide, is a partnership among the City of Knoxville Police Department, Knoxville's Police Advisory and Review Committee, and the University of Tennessee’s Institute for Public Service.

    Texas RCPI

    The Texas Regional Center for Policing Innovation is committed to promoting policing innovation throughout the state and nation, specifically addressing the integration of crime-specific strategies into policing innovation. Through training opportunities and the dissemination of information the Center and its partners foster police-community partnerships leading to innovative methods of reducing crime and improving neighborhood safety.     Tri-State RCPI

    Tri-State Regional Community Policing Institute was established in 1997, funded by a federal Cooperative Training Agreement from the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) in Washington, DC. Since that time we have trained more than 34,000 police, government, and community representatives in this concept. The Institute was formed as a partnership between the Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career Development, The Cincinnati Police Department, The National Conference for Community Justice and the Ohio Crime Prevention Association.

    Virginia RCPI

    The mission of VCPI is to advance community policing in order to build safer communities and improve the quality of life throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. The institute provides training and technical assistance for Virginia's law enforcement officials and communities that help to build integrated, proactive approaches to community policing initiatives. This is accomplished through the application of crime prevention techniques, problem solving strategies, and establishment of community partnerships.

    VCPI is a statewide resource for law enforcement, citizens, local government officials, and others interested in community policing.
